Along the way we got a little lost but that's ok when you have good company to visit with. When we did make it to the Monster Village the crowds were huge. The parking lots were already full and people were now parking on the road and walking up the mountain to the village. The monster village was very cute. They had many monsters hanging around the village but all of them were pleasant.
This was the first monster of the day. Noah always gets a kick out of seeing a naked monster.
This naked monster offers soy milk... Yum yum
There are many cute shops with lots of souvenirs to buy. We are on a spending diet or I would have bought tons of cute bags at this shop. We are saving our money for our big vacation that starts tomorrow. Hopefully I will be able to find many cute items while on vacation.
This man was playing music on a hand saw! It was very interesting and you can see the video I made of him at this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvWJUSMdQzE&feature=youtu.be
There is a monster hanging out above Justin and Noah.
They have a hotel and many little cabins for visitors to stay in. It was so cute.
I found a 4-leaf clover!
Yes there is a working telephone in this booth and yes it is in the woods next to a cabin.
Here is another of the strange monsters hanging out throughout the village.
And this furry monster was the sweetest of them all... She just wanted us to pet her.
Noah found his monster twin.
And last of course are the drunk monsters.
Our next stop was Sun Link Sea. This place is absolutely beautiful. It is on top of a mountain very near to the monster village.
Statues of the Formosan black bear, native to Taiwan.
In the rainy season, summer, this lake is full of water.
Such a beautiful waterfall. Again in the summer this waterfall is about 10 times bigger than it is today.
After hanging out at the waterfall for about half an hour we decided to start our hike to the top. We had to go up the mountain about half a mile. It was a very nice walking trail but mostly steps. I don't think I have ever done so many stairs at one time. My calves were so sore the next day but it was worth it.
This formation in the mountain is called "The eyes of the god"
All smiles because we are headed back down.
On our hike down the mountain there were several places to stop and see all the flowers.
This was Herb and flower garden area. The flowers are so pretty and smell wonderful.
After the flower garden we continued down the hill. The trail was so nice and beautiful. If we lived here, in the forest, I don't think we would come back to America, but don't worry we don't live here
At the end of our 3.5 mile hike Noah still has a smile on his face.
